Development Process
January 2022
The start of our game's journey came from developing the combat system immediately and creating an original tile set. Puzzles and mechanics were what we wished to get done first so we could get feedback.

We wanted to make even more puzzles to diversify the dungeon exploration and add items to help out the player whenever in a pinch. Around this time, enemies were being reworked to always be present as a threat.

March 2022
Moving away from gameplay momentarily, we focused on a bit of polish for animations all around, as well as give some life to our environment! From creating a small narrative with text boxes to programming in a new companion for the player, we wanted to polish loose ends as a good stopping point from our school quarter.

April 2022
Continuing on with polish, we aimed to replace any default assets with original art and making each asset feel more at home with the game's theme. Such tasks were overhauling our tile set, reworking the UI, and creating our own font. On the gameplay aspect, we completed creating an entirely new level for the player to explore with moveable rooms as the puzzle and AI companions that will follow what the player tells them to do through the 4 created commands.

May 2022
As we were starting to close up the project for now, we wanted to make sure things felt as refined as they could be. Our artists worked very hard to design our UI and create more animations overall. Our programmers continued to refine pathing for the player's AI companion, add a new gameplay mechanic while fighting in combat, and make each new combat scene feel different from before!
